A Complete Guide to Claiming Land
Are you confused about how claiming land works? Well no need to fear as I am here to solve all of your problems.
What Is Claiming?
Claiming is the only way to protect your builds and/or your items.
Claiming is the action of protecting your land from grief and malicious actors. Anything that is inside of a claimed area is inaccessible to anyone who is not trusted within that claim. Meaning that the only players who are allowed to break blocks or open chests are those who have been trusted.
There are two different methods you can use to claim your land. You can either use the golden shovel that is provided in /kit claim or you can simply type /claim. Both do the same job. Just use whichever one you prefer.
How Many Claim Blocks Do I Have?
After typing /claim or selecting the gold shovel you will see an in game message pop up that displays how many claim blocks you currently have.
How Do I Actually Claim?
The act of claiming itself it pretty easy actually. Just go up to your base while holding the gold shovel or while in claim mode and right click the floor in opposite corners of the area you want to claim.
For example if I wanted to claim this entire section. I would right click the floor in these two corners. After doing that the land will be claimed and the border of the area will show like this:
Anything that is placed within this border is protected and like I said before, nobody can grief it.
Can I Resize My Claim?
Yes, you can, and its fairly easy to do so!
All you need is to once again get that golden shovel (or in this case also a stick) and then go to one of the corners of your claim and right click it in the glowstone section as shown below.
It will then turn into a diamond block and display a message in chat
Then all you need to do is move to where you want the new corner point to be and right click. You will know it works because you will get a message in chat saying Claim resized and you will be able to visually see a difference in the claim border.
How Do I Remove A Claim?
Removing a claim is quite simple. All you need to do is stand in the claim and type /abandonclaim. Once the claim is abandoned you will be refunded the claim blocks you used to initially claim the land.
How Do I Let My Friend Build In My Claim?
Simply do /trust [IGN] while standing inside the claim you would like to trust them in.
There are also different types of trust ranks. These are as follows:
- Manager Trust – Like builder trust except it also allows the player to /trust other people into the claim
- Builder Trust – The Basic tier of trust. Allows the trustee to do anything in your claim, such as break blocks and open chests.
- Container Trust – Lower level trust. Allows someone to open chests and take from them. Does not allow a player to build.
- Accessor Trust – This permits someone to use buttons, beds, and some specific blocks. They are not allowed to open containers or build in the area.

Q ~ What is the minimum size of a claim?
A~ The minimum size of a claim is 5x5. Meaning it must be at least 5 blocks by 5 blocks in length and width.
Q ~ Can I remove another players claim if they're in my way?
A~ Unfortunately you can not do so. But if you feel that a player has created a claim solely to disrupt your play or a claim that is in your way then you are free to create a ticket in our discord server in which a staff member can take a look at your issue once one is free to do so.
Q ~ Can I remove a claim that's been inactive for months?
A~ If you are wanting to claim an area that is currently owned by another player, you cant. I understand that sometimes players claim land and then just quit the game, but this does not constitute a reason to force abandon the claim and allow you to build on it as this player could still come back and never gave permission for the claim to be removed.
Q ~ How Do I Earn More Claim Blocks
A~ There are a handful of ways to earn more claim blocks. The main method is earning them from the in game battle pass, and from /vote. You can also earn claim blocks by buying them with gems from the /store. And a more niche way of earning claim blocks is simply by holding the golden shovel claim tool. It passively grants you claim blocks over time.
Q ~ How big can I make my claim?
A~ You can make your claim as large as you would like. Assuming you have enough claim blocks to claim it all
Q ~ Do my set claims and claim blocks get wiped at start of resets?
A~ Once a year the server undergoes a complete reset. When this reset happens, all claims are lost and claim block balances are supposed to be set back to the base level.
